Hello everybody, my name is Kevin and I'm a 24 years old guy from Germany. I had build many modelships in the last years for example a ferry or some rivercargoships. My last model was a model from the Aquapolis, but you have to know that I built this without any plans. Only from my mind. For my new project I need some help, because I want to do it more professional. I want to build a model of the new rivercargoship URSA Montana. For this project I need some plans how to build the ship's hull. I saw that some of you have plans how to build this. For me it´s very important how I have to build the bow of the ship and the ship's stern. Who can help me in these points? Where can I get those plans for the hull? nieuwe schepen zijn altijd erg lastig om tekeningen van te krijgen. meestal bedrijfs geheim drawings of new ships are really hard to get. this is company information which they will not give.
First thank you for your quick reply. I think I don't need the exact plans of the new URSA Montana. I need plans were I can see, how I have to make the woodcut for the scaffold of the hull. For my project I want to build a hull with a two-screw drive. Has anybody plans from hulls like that? Who can help? Thank you all. Greetings

@Hitman Plans of a ship, especially a new one, are hard to get. Why? Because the lines of the hull unterwater are secret. One inch more or less somewhere means a lof of fuel less over a year. A few years ago a few modelboatbuilders were inveted to the "Waterloopkundig laboratorium" ( laboratry where ships hulls in model are tested) in Wageningen. We were told that, if we made pictures of the models of the laboratry, were should be kicked out... It was treated as a kind of industrial espionage...
you write, i don't build from plans, just photo's use that, find/ask photo's from the hull, the shapes, look at other ships, look at shipmodels made by other people, the wooden frames/structures, those show al the shapes you need just try it, it doesn't cost much, just some wood. i build from pictures as well, i don't like drawings and plans, i rather go my own way. i use an existing ship, use the photo's as an example and build the model with a little twist. makes it personal but it still is build after a real ship.
The guy needs guidelines how to make the hull... not THE plans of the URSA MONTANA, but just plans how to make a hull like the URSA MONTANA. He needs help on the stern amd the bow, he wants to make his model more professional. Vertaling: Deze kerel heeft richtlijnen nodig om de romp te maken... niet de exacte plannen van de URSA MONTANA, maar gewoon voorbeelden (liefst tekeningen) om een dergelijke romp te maken. Ich schreibe es jetzt einfach mal auf Deutsch =) Hoffe das des kein problem ist! Also was mir völlig reichen würde, wäre ein schablone für den Spantenbau für einen Zweischrauber so wie es dort gemacht [post46] wurde! Solche Schablonen würden mir ungemein helfen! Hallo Hitman, bei http://www.Delftship.net gibt es ein Plan fuer das gesuchte Schiff. Es siet änlich aus wie der Ursa Montana. Eine Schubplatform musst du dan selber entwerfen. Das lasst sich nach Bilder relatiev einfach bastlen. Im algemeine ist das bei die meisste Schiffe standard. Mfg Janus
